Spring/Summer Dresses - Floral Edition

Definitely need to get me some floral dresses this summer. Also, I always thought summer dresses were supposed to go with flip flops and sandals, but the shoes these dresses were styled with looks great.

Going out with Alice + Olivia

I am seriously disappointed I have never been able to try an Alice + Olivia frock on, since its launch in 2002. Probably since I havent come across many in Vancouver (quite a shame). Nevertheless, its designer Stacey Benet, never seems to cease designing great dresses for the very stylish girl on various classy occasions.

The Olympic experience in Vancouver was beyond amazing. I have never seen the city so alive and patriotic. 17 days was not enough. I love being a Vancouverite!

My Meeting with a Canadian Fashion Icon

The Olympics has brought an impressive amount of celebrities to Vancouver this month, and I was just so happy to have spotted Jeanne Beker - Canada's Next Top Model judge & Fashion Television host - at Holt Renfrew the other afternoon. Toting a large Holts bag, and not surrounded by many people, I knew I had to ask for a photo. I didn't know what to expect, but Ms. Beker was incredibly warm and down to earth - I only regret not talking to her longer! I believe all I said was "I am a huge fan" and scurried on my way after the picture was taken. Aside from her on-screen duties, the 57-year-old Toronto native covers fashion for the Globe and Mail, and has written 3 books - Jeanne Unbottled: Adventures in High Style, The Big Night Out, and Passion for Fashion.

I'd Like to Try These ..Just for the Fun of It

Nina Ricci

Alexander McQueen

Devinely Draped

I am loving the draped skirt look this season. I recently bought a high-waisted Wilfred tulip draped skirt from Aritzia that really elongates my short legs. This trend is comfortable and incredibly flattering.

Valentino To Die For

I can hardly contain myself when I look at this shoe - Valentino, Spring 2010. The line has been doing the bow statement for a few seasons now and I frankly can't get enough of it. The classic black lace makes it super sexy and they could go with any dress. Price: $995 *sigh

Rom Coms

Valentine's Day
Fittingly, I went to see this film on Vday with the bf - and as expected so did a million other couples (the first showing we tried to see was sold out hours in advance). Valentine's Day was a great movie that lived up to its star-packed cast; It was funny and had really good heartfelt moments. With the numerous intertwining plotlines it was also definitely relatable - single people and those who hate Valentine's would enjoy it as well. Love Actually is one of my favorite movies, and if you love that one then you'd definitely love Valentine's Day. The only semi-cringe-worthy thing about this movie (and don't hate me) was Taylor Swift's acting..
My Rating: 8.5/10

When In Rome
To be honest, I expected this film to be a typically predictable romantic comedy, but I really enjoyed it. It had unique comedic moments, and surpisingly had a few twists. Side Notes: Josh Duhamel is really nice to look at and Kristen Bell had some really cute dresses on.
My Rating: 7/10

Vancouver Olympics 2010: Opening Ceremonies

Ok, so first of all - as someone born and raised in Vancouver BC, I have never been so proud to be a Vancouverite. Just 2 hours before the start of the Opening Ceremonies at BC Place I get a call from one of my bestfriends who tells me she got free tickets and is taking me! I know it sounds super cheesy - but I seriously got a little emotional that night seeing how patriotic Canadians could actually be.

The ceremonies were just amazing - I was truly impressed with the originality and use of special effects. Every member of the audience (all 60 000 of us) was given a box full of things we needed for audience participation - including a white/blue poncho, and a branded flashlight and electronic candle used to make the entire stadium look spectacular (if you've watched the ceremonies already it makes more sense). We all had section leaders who would tell us when to turn on our lights and what to do with them.

The next 2 weeks are gunna be insane. GO CANADA GO!

Side Note: I saw Dan OR Dean Caten of the clothing label DSquared when I was going to my section at the Opening Ceremonies! I was a lil starstruck

It's About Time!

Alright, so after years of vocally dishing out my opinions of everything pop culture, I've finally taken time to create my first blog, which will be both informative and an outlet to express my views and latest obsessions on Fashion, Films, Television, Celebrities, Events, etc.

If you've stumbled upon my blog, enjoy :) . If no one reads this, that's alright as well - I've figured this would be just a great way to relieve the everyday stresses
